About FAHR
FAHR was a German agricultural machinery manufacturer founded in 1870 as Gottlieb Fahr Maschinenfabrik. The company initially specialized in harvesting equipment and later expanded into tractor production in the early 20th century. FAHR became well known for its durable diesel tractors, particularly after World War II, emphasizing mechanical reliability and efficiency for European farming conditions. In 1968, FAHR merged with Deutz, forming Deutz-FAHR, which combined FAHR’s agricultural expertise with Deutz’s advanced air-cooled diesel engine technology. Today, the FAHR legacy continues within the Deutz-FAHR brand, recognized globally for robust, technologically advanced tractors.
